In winter, the Montafon alpine valley transforms into a true ski Eldorado and a “winter wonderland.” You will experience a relaxing active holiday in glorious white splendor. On 297 kilometers of slopes you will experience a very special skiing holiday in Vorarlberg – right in the Silvretta Montafon ski area. Perfectly groomed slopes and deep snow runs for beginners, advanced skiers, and true powder kings. For families with children, there is a children’s area and dedicated practice slopes. And of course, there are numerous ski schools on site that will improve your performance on the slopes.

Experience an extraordinary ski day in the Silvretta mountains. In the morning you take the Vermunt cable car to the mountain station, from there the tunnel bus takes you to 2,132 m, where the Silvretta lake lies at your feet. A special highlight: you grab onto a snowcat and glide with your skis all the way to Galtür.
After that, you have the whole day on the slopes. In the evening of this eventful day, the snowcat takes you back to the valley run at the Zeinisjoch, from where you ski down through the Ganifer valley to the starting point in Partenen.

Winter hiking and snowshoeing.
Montafon is a true paradise for hikes on marked trails or untouched paths. For example, the snowshoe hike in Gargellen. Along the idyllic Valifenz stream, you trek at the foot of the majestic Madrisa through deep snow – all around you only untouched, glittering snowfields and silence. Enjoy the crystal-clear winter air and the panoramic views on this breathtaking excursion.
Tobogganing fun in Gauertal and on Garfrescha.
At 6.6 km, the natural toboggan run from the Lindau hut through the Gauertal is the longest toboggan run in Montafon – lots of fun is definitely guaranteed here. The hike up to the Lindau hut makes you conquer 700 meters in altitude with a steady climb. Once you’ve made it, a tasty refreshment and a thrilling descent await you.
Prefer night tobogganing?
Then a tobogganing experience of a different kind awaits: from the Maisäß village of Garfrescha, you ride your sled down the toboggan run to St. Gallenkirch – while it is already dark all around. Of course, the track itself is illuminated.
Down the slope with the Skifox.
Skifox – ever heard of it? It’s a fun winter sports device with which you race down the slope while sitting. To better maintain your balance on the narrow seat, short gliders are strapped to your feet – and off you go down the slope.
